Description
5G + IoT: Business and technical update from AT&T and Ericsson
Featuring Paul Challoner, VP Network Product Solutions, Ericsson North America and Jorge Matar, Lead Business Development Manager, IoT, AT&T
5G is the latest generation of cellular mobile communications that targets high data rates, reduced latency, energy savings, cost reduction, higher system capacity and fosters massive device connectivity. IoT is the connection of these objects, devices, vehicles, buildings, cities, etc. to the internet, enabling machine-generated data to be analyzed for insight and improvement. The promise of 5G and IoT will further transform how we live our lives with a steep increase in machine-to-machine communications to enable fuller, richer and more convenient lifestyles. We are pleased to have AT&T and Ericsson, both with long history in DFW, presenting at this event.
Ericsson, addressing the technology, will present a 5G technical update on how the technology currently enables IoT today and will do so in the future. AT&T will address the business end of IoT with focus on their global strategy, key target verticals, sample use cases and a high level view all the different network technologies AT&T brings to bear to deliver their future rich IoT solutions to customers. But questions remain...Can you have one without the other? Where are the profit pools expected to come from...business to business, business to consumer or a combination of both?
The intent is to provide some clarity to the synergy between 5G and IoT from two of the leading global wireless technology companies.
