Med tech IP best practices: Fundamentals and strategies

We will focus on the IP fundamentals of patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyright, and diligence for Med Tech companies. We will discuss recent developments in IP law decided by the US Supreme Court, and other courts, and how those impact the Med Tech industry. We will consider best practices and strategies for maximizing IP protection and value in the Med Tech space and how to avoid common pitfalls.
About the speaker:
Curtis R. Huffmire is a partner at Knobbe, Martens, Olson & Bear, LLP. His practice includes strategic patent procurement, patent portfolio management, intellectual property due diligence, general counseling on infringement and licensing, interferences, reexaminations, and other related issues. In the medical device field, he has worked extensively with cardiovascular, orthopedic, surgical, and respiratory technologies. He has been a regular presenter on the topic of MedTech IP developments.
Mr. Huffmire received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering form Brigham Young University, na his J.C. from the George Washington University Law School with highest honors.
