The roles of Design and Manufacturing are not unlike the roles of the Chef and the Cook.  It’s important to differentiate between producing the Designs (Recipes) and producing the Product (Meals).  A clearly defined “recipe” developed in a collaborative environment with strict documentation requirements and rigorous release control processes is the best way to improve consistency and thus quality, lower the product cost and support scalability.  In his use of the chef and cook analogy, Paul Peck will illustrate how Product Data Management and Product Lifecycle Management are used to clearly define the separation of duties between Design and Manufacturing, while keeping everyone on the same page.

Paul Peck is a hands-on and versatile tech exec leader experienced at helping companies (from start-up to Fortune 500) manage growth, achieve profitability goals and meet strategic objectives, including the management of M&A transactions, from both sides.  He has extensive M&A experience including target identification, due diligence and acquisition integration, having worked for 8 early stage companies that were all acquired by larger companies, and having transitioned to executive roles with the new company every time.

He has held executive positions with several US corporations and with 4 foreign-owned publicly-traded multi-nationals: British, Canadian, French, & German.  He has managed "off-shore"​ manufacturing and service operations in Brazil, Britain, China, Germany, Holland, India, Norway, Mexico, Romania, Sweden, Taiwan, & Vietnam.

His civic engagement includes serving as vice chair & treasurer of Tech Titans (formerly the MTBC), as a current member of the Richardson Mayor’s International Economic Development Board and a member of Richardson's Tax Increment Financing Board.

His academic engagement includes being on 3 boards at UT-Dallas: Center for Intelligent Supply Networks, Center for Info Tech Management, & Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Also a frequent guest lecturer at UT-Dallas's School of Management

Paul has a Bachelors and a MBA from Texas Tech University, and a CPA license from the State of Texas, with most accounting coursework done at UT-Dallas.
