The torch is going to be passed to our generation sooner than we think and it is our duty to keep North Texas' economy booming. What do today's leaders want us to know about the strengths and weaknesses of our region? What is needed from us as future leaders to ensure our community continues its vibrant path? Hear a panel of leaders from the corporate, government and academic pillars discuss what our generation can expect in terms of economic growth over the next 10 years and what challenges we may face along the way. About the speakers:
Dr. Krish Prabhu
Dr. Krish Prabhu is a fellow at the AT&T Center for Virtualization at Southern Methodist University. He previously retired as president of AT&T Labs and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for AT&T, where he was responsible for the company's global technology direction, network architecture and evolution, and service and product design. Krish has an extensive background in technology innovation from his time at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Alcatel, Morgenthaler Ventures, and Tellabs. He is also the Honorary Board member at Tech Titans.
Mike Peng is the Jindal Chair of Global Strategy and Executive Director for the Center of Global Business at the Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas. He is also a National Science Foundation (NSF) Career Award winner and a Fellow of the Academy of International Business (AIB). He has published over 140 articles and five books used in over 40 countries. In consulting engagements, Mike has worked with multinationals (such as AstraZeneca, SAFRAN, and Texas Instruments) and national and international organizations (such as the Natural Science Foundation of China, UK Government Office for Science, US Navy, and World Bank). Mike received his BS from Winona State University, Minnesota; and his PhD from the University of Washington, Seattle.
Cyndy R. Powell, MPA, CPM
Cyndy joined the City of Plano as Director of Business Retention and Expansion in 2017. She brings borad experience in economic development and public administration having served cities throughout Texas. Her career success is complemented by a Master of Public Affairs in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from UT Dallas, graduate certificate from Economic Development Institute (OU-EDI) and accreditation as a Certified Public Manager from Texas State University William P. Hobby Center for Public Service.
Cheryl Hall
Cheryl Hall, a journalism graduate of SMU, has covered business for more than 45 years and gets her phone calls returned. She's won numerous awards including several Katies from the Press Club of Dallas and a lifetime distinguished achievement award from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers.
