Getting your IoT devices to mesh with thread
Featuring Brandon Satrom, Developer Advocate for Particle
Building for the Internet of Things is no longer about getting a single connected device online over a local Wi-Fi or even cellular connection. Increasingly, real IoT projects - be they for smart home, smart factory, or shop floor - utilize a swarm of devices to interact with sensors, report status, and manage actuators. In this session, we'll explore how mesh networking through Thread solves some of the hardest problems in the IoT space today, as well as how Particle Mesh leverages Thread to power its newest generation of connected devices.
About the speaker:
Brandon Satrom is the Developer Advocate for Particle and the founder of Carrot Pants Studios a maker education and publishing company. An unabashed lover of tech and an avid tinkerer, Brandon loves to talk about sensors and circuits, microcontrollers, open source, robots and whatever new shiny tool or technology has distracted him from that other thing he was working on. Brandon has spoken at national, international and online events, and is the author of four books. He lives in Austin, TX with his wife, Sarah, and three sons, Benjamin, Jack and Matthew.
Registration Policy: Payment is necessary at the time of reservations. Due to catering requirements we must charge for reservations not canceled three days prior to the event. Unclaimed reservations during the event will be relinquished at 8 am. Walk-in customers will be seated based on space availability.
