Join the Health Tech Forum to hear about two local companies changing the healthcare game with advanced technology. Phronetik has an artificial intelligence platform for point-of-care diagnostics, and BALANCED Media|Technology empowers gaming communities to help solve real-world problems through data science innovation and human intuition.
About the speakers:
Dr. Tania Martin-Mercado is president & CEO of Phronetik, a biotechnology company headquartered in North Texas. While at Phronetik, she designed an artificial intelligence platform for point-of-care diagnostics. She is also the founder and CTO at YGEIA, a digital health company focused on chronic disease management in the home. At YGEIA, she invented a patent-pending medical device kit for chronic disease management, which won an award at International CES in 2015 and recognition in Tech Republic's 2016 issue. She is a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army, ending her military career as a Chief Warrant Officer 2 in the area of cyber information systems. She has been featured in several local, national and international publications regarding biotechnology, healthcare and scientific topics. She serves on the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas STEM Advisory Council.
Robert M. Atkins is CEO of BALANCED Media | Technology, a crowd-sourced healthcare AI company focused on fundamentally changing the way researchers, pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers leverage machine learning to advance the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. As a founding member of five interactive entertainment companies, he has contributed to over 50+ titles, with some noted as the industry's most acclaimed franchises, including: Quake, Duke Nukem 3D, SiN, Heavy Metal, Tomb Raider, Star Trek, LUXOR, Metal of Honor, and Counter Strike. During his 27-year career, his companies and products have won dozens of industry awards, generated hundreds of millions in revenue and received worldwide acclaim. In 2018 he received the Industry Giants' Community Icon Award.
