Travis Russell has been in telecommunications more than 35 years, with experience in radio, voice and data networking. As a cyber security professional and technologist, Mr. Russell has a long career focused in telecommunications cyber security and fraud, with expertise in a number of telecom technologies. He participates in a number of standards bodies and trade associations, including the 3GPP, GSMA, and IETF. Travis serves on several advisory councils, including the FCC Communications Security, Reliability, and Interoperability Council (CSRIC) VI, and the White House NSTAC. Mr. Russell has authored several technical books, including “Signaling System #7,” “Session Initiation Protocol,” “IP Multimedia Subsystem,” and “LTE Signaling With Diameter,” all published through McGraw-Hill. His book, “Telecommunications Protocols” is still used in colleges and universities today for teaching the fundamentals of telecommunications, and is printed in four languages. Mr. Russell holds several patents focusing on cyber security and fraud solutions, and has lectured at colleges, universities, and industry events all over the world. He is currently the head of the Cybersecurity Office at Oracle Communications.
Mirena Taskova is a Managing Director - Head of Privacy & Cybersecurity at Armanino. Mirena has over 14 years of wide-ranging privacy & cybersecurity experience and has profound insights into the latest worldwide privacy & cybersecurity developments. Her clients include Fortune 500 businesses in the high-tech electronics manufacturing industry, fintech, pharmaceutical, healthcare, oil and gas, as well as food/non-food retail industry. Mirena’s work includes advising diverse businesses on various complex privacy & cybersecurity matters.
Ms. Taskova has extensive international privacy experience – she has lived and has worked in the field in the Bay Area (United States), as well as in various countries in Europe (e.g. UK, Austria, Bulgaria).
Mirena has a European Master degree in Law, as well as a Master of Laws (LLM) in Law, Science & Technology from the Stanford Law School in the United States. She also has a European Bachelor degree in Accounting & Control. Mirena is a CIPP/E certified privacy expert by the IAPP, a certified CDPSE by ISACA, and a certified DPO by the EIPA.
Derek Manky brings more than fifteen years of experience to a strategic and visionary cyber security role working with FortiGuard Labs at Fortinet . Manky leads F ortiGuard Labs global threat intelligence team which consults with leading CSOs/CISOs of Fortune 500 companies world wide across multiple industries Manky provides thought leadership to industry and has presen ted research and strategy world wide at m any pr emier security
conferences. As a cyber security expert , his work has included meetings with leading political figures and key policy stakeholders globally , including law enforcement, which help s define the future of cyber security. In 2019, he was selected as one of six nationwide delegates to represent Canada as a Canadian leader from the field of cyber through his leadership and expertise in Cyber Security. He is a contributing author to the World Economic Forum Partnership against Cybercrime Report. Manky has been recipient of his technical University’ s honorable 2019 BCIT Distinguished Alumni Award. Manky orchestrates global threat intelligence initiatives with Fortinet, including the World Economic Forum Partnership against Cybercrime, Cyber Threat Alliance (CTA), NATO NICP, INTERPOL Expert Working Group, and the Forum for Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST).
