About the speakers:
Paola Saibene has been has held multiple CIO/CTO/CSO/global privacy officer, and VP of enterprise risk management positions in large, multi-billion dollar organizations. She has worked in government writ-large, and in the private and non-profit sectors, such as industrial manufacturing, education, health, finance, software development, and transportation. She teaches the evening Master’s Program in Information Security at Dallas Baptist University, focusing on an ecosystem/holistic approach that blends innovation, digital transformation, cyber, privacy, governance, and compliance, yielding sustainability and a stronger innovation and risk management culture.

Presently Paola is the CEO of Quartus Factor (a company focusing on resiliency and strength as a competitive advantage), as well as the President of Innovation-TVA (a merger and acquisition preparedness organization).  She also runs http://PrivacyMind.org and the Center of Excellence in Digital Ethics at DBU.

Shawn Tuma is an attorney internationally recognized in cybersecurity, computer fraud and data privacy law, areas in which he has practiced for over two decades. He is co-chair of Spencer Fane’s Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice Group where he regularly serves as cybersecurity and privacy counsel advising a wide variety of businesses in dealing with cybersecurity, data privacy, data breach and incident response, regulatory compliance, computer fraud related legal issues, and cyber-related litigation. He is frequently sought out and hired by other lawyers and law firms to advise them when these issues arise in cases for their own clients.
While this area of the law has evolved greatly in the 20+ years while he has been practicing, he continues to evolve with it as a practitioner representing his clients, academically as an author and instructor, and as an analyst for the national media.

Shawn’s practice covers three distinct areas: Cyber Risk Management, Cyber Incident Response and Cyber Security, Hacking, and Data Breach Litigation. His ideal role is to serve as a member of a company’s risk management team as outside cybersecurity counsel to help the company proactively prepare for and minimize its risks of doing business in today’s digital business world. Then, if a problem does arise, he is there to guide the company through resolving those issues as well.
