Tech Titans to be Standalone Organization

The Richardson Chamber of Commerce has announced Tech Titans^®, the technology trade association it launched in 1994, has received its own 501(c)6 status and is officially a standalone entity.

“This opportunity is an exciting new chapter in the history and evolution of Tech Titans and will allow us to make an even bigger impact across North Texas,” said Amy Wheelus, chair of the Tech Titans board of directors. “We are continuously inspired by our member companies. Because of the work they are doing, the next 30 years of technology are sure to be as transformative as the last 30.”

Formerly the Metroplex Technology Business Council, the scope and influence of Tech Titans in the region has grown tremendously over the past several decades. The mission of the MTBC was centered around the interests of Richardson’s telecom companies, but as other technology sectors arrived across the Dallas Fort - Worth area, the group diversified its programming and reach and rebranded to Tech Titans in  2015. Its mission today is to connect the technology community to collaborate, share and inspire creative thinking across the region.

“The Richardson Chamber is proud of its role in establishing and growing the largest technology association in North Texas,” said Randy Ford, chairman of the board of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce. “It will be exciting to see how the organization grows and evolves while furthering its mission to connect tech companies and attract top talent and high-paying jobs to the area.”

Tech Titans represents a quarter million employees through its more than 150 member companies, from startups to Fortune 500 companies. The organization’s investments in STEM initiatives are helping to build the workforce of tomorrow, and its advocacy for public policies support innovation and create a climate friendly environment to foster technological advancements.

The Richardson Chamber and Tech Titans will continue to share offices and resources.
