Quantum Technology Forum sets initial committee meeting
Are you interested in exploring the exciting new world of quantum technology? If so, you are invited to the organizational meeting of the new Tech Titans Quantum Technology Forum steering committee on October 21. This virtual meeting will begin at 8 am. Those interested in serving on the committee should contact Tech Titans Executive Director Paul Bendel.
The Tech Titans Board of Directors approved the creation of the Quantum Technology Forum in August to ensure North Texas businesses are constantly kept abreast of the explosion of Quantum Technology and position North Texas as a leader in all aspects of Quantum Technology. The forum will produce programs that will discuss the challenges and opportunities while positioning businesses of all sizes to better understand quantum. The forum will also work with area universities to leverage the research taking place in quantum.
The tri-chairs of the forum committee are Mike Thompson, CEO of Quanta Cyber, Shaibal Chakrabarty, CTO of Quanta Cyber and Rashmi Varma, CEO of QuantaWatt.
The forum committee will plan and produce 4-6 programs on quantum technology related topics in 2026. Membership in Tech Titans is required to serve on a sanctioned committee, but this initial meeting is open to anyone interested in participating in the committee.
The new forum will have its official launch at the November 14th Tech Industry Luncheon where the program will highlight the Texas Quantum Initiative bill. The bill was adopted by the Texas Legislature during this year’s regular session and signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott in June. The legislation establishes and administers the Texas Quantum Initiative, which aims to make Texas a leader in the quantum industry.
