Tech Titans Executive Director Paul Bendel to Retire

Tech Titans has announced its long-time Executive Director Paul Bendel will retire at the end of the year. The Tech Titans Board of Directors is actively engaged in seeking his replacement to carry on the organization’s mission. Bendel’s leadership and retirement was announced at the organization's 2025 Tech Titans Awards on Sept. 12.

“Paul Bendel’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping Tech Titans into the vibrant, forward-looking organization it is today,” said Marvin Harris, an engineering senior manager at Qorvo and Board Chair of Tech Titans. “His vision, dedication, and ability to bring people together have left a lasting legacy on the North Texas tech community. We are deeply grateful for his service and wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement.”

Bendel joined the Richardson Chamber of Commerce and Tech Titans, then the Metroplex Technology Business Council (MTBC), in 2003. During his tenure, he oversaw the evolution of the organization from the MTBC, which initially focused heavily on telecom companies in Richardson, to Tech Titans, which serves as the regional technology trade association in North Texas, receiving its own 501c6 status in 2024. He was named Executive Director of Tech Titans in 2022.

In addition to his duties as Executive Director, Paul manages the teams that produce the Annual Tech Titans Awards, the Annual Golf Tournament, Tech Industry Luncheon Series and the special interest forums.

“It has been my privilege to serve the many members of Tech Titans, especially as its Executive Director,” Bendel said. “I am humbled by the support of the many volunteers and staff with whom I worked over the years to make Tech Titans what is has become today. I look forward to watching on the sidelines as Tech Titans continues to make an even greater impact on the tech industry in the future.”

Bendel’s career spans four decades in association management primarily working for chambers of commerce. Prior to that, he was a news reporter and play-by-play announcer for several East Texas radio stations. Paul has completed the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management and has earned the Certified Chamber Executive designation from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.
