Tech Titans to start a Quantum Technology Forum
Tech Titans will be organizing a Quantum Technology Forum this fall following approval by the Tech Titans Board of Directors at their August meeting. It is the first new forum for Tech Titans in over 6 years and will join the Artificial Intelligence Forum and Cybersecurity Forum in providing deep dive presentations and discussions on cutting-edge technologies.
The formation of the new forum comes on the heels of the passage of HB 4751, the Texas Quantum Initiative, passed in the last regular session of the Texas Legislature and signed into law by Governor Abbott in June of this year. The primary purpose of the Texas Quantum Initiative is to accelerate the integration of these advanced technologies into the state's economy.
The mission statement for the new Quantum Technology Forum states the forum “will ensure North Texas businesses are constantly kept abreast of the explosion of Quantum Technology and position North Texas as a leader in all aspects of Quantum Technology.”
Quantum communications is physics-based instead of algorithm-based. It enables ultra-secure information transfer and next-generation networking that leverages the laws of quantum physics rather than relying on computational assumptions like current encryption does.
“Tech Titans has always positioned its forums to focus on the future trends in the industry. Given the complexity and uncertainty around Quantum, this forum positions Tech Titans to deliver innovative programs to the tech community. We are excited to bring this technology to the forefront,” said Executive Director Paul Bendel.
The tri-chairs of the new forum are Mike Thompson, CEO of QuantaCyber, Shaibal Chakrabarty, CTO of QuantaCyber and Adjunct Professor at SMU, and Rashmi Varma, CEO of QuantaWatt and Adjunct Professor at UT Dallas.
A meeting to organize the Quantum Technology Forum Steering Committee will be held sometime after the Tech Titans Awards. The forum committee will select specific topics and recruit speakers to present at quarterly programs in 2026. The official launch of the forum will be built around the November 14 Tech Industry Luncheon.
