Tech Titans offers various forums built around specific technology or business verticals. These forums enable members to meet and share ideas around areas that most benefit their careers and the future of their companies.
The Design and Manufacturing Forum targets multiple industry sectors including military, medical, industrial and telecom. Its meetings and programs focus on design, manufacturing, emerging technologies, electronics, plastics and metal fabrication. The forum’s mission is to provide Tech Titans members and guests with hardware design & manufacturing information and a local network of technology professionals that will help improve their products. Attendees typically include engineers and engineering managers, researchers and supply chain managers, but anyone is welcome to attend.
“Our forum is about connecting people and bringing them together to help facilitate a conversation,” said Gary Tanel, the forum’s lead tri-chair. “We want to increase technology knowledge to members throughout the metroplex and in the process, help grow the Tech Titans organization.”
The Design and Manufacturing forum tries to host about six events per year – generally a facility tour, followed by a presentation and networking time. The last event held was a third Friday tech luncheon featuring the chief operating officer of Fujitsu. Forty-nine people attended. The next event will be held May 13 at Texas Instruments. It will include a brief presentation, tour of the Texas Instruments 30mm wafer fab and networking time afterward.
One of the forum’s assets is its history. Tanel started the forum several years ago and would host round tables at the company where he was employed at the time. Topics related to electronic design and manufacturing, because that is Tanel’s expertise. When Tech Titans adopted the forum last year, it broadened the scope to include all kinds of design and manufacturing.
“Any time you can facilitate a conversation and increase knowledge, I think it is beneficial. That is what this forum does. We’re also attracting potential Tech Titans members which benefits the entire organization,” said Tanel.
Design and Manufacturing forum events are free to all attendees, but you still must RSVP, as some companies have a limited amount of space. For more information about any of the seven Tech Titans forums, e-mail Paul Bendel, or call him at 972-792-2854.
