While spending in the sector will also grow\, some companies have yet to enter the fray\, or will absolutely have to enter the connected IIoT world in order to stay competitive.\n\nTo enable this growth\, large platform vendors have created several tools and services in the market focused on the Internet of Things enablement. \n\nThese platforms and services have been primarily adopted by those industries where there was a natural business case. i.e. Utilities\, Oil and Gas and some OEMs. These verticals can purchase scale and have large IT staffs to build their own.\n\nThe next wave of industries and medium businesses will have an easier path to a customer facing offer. They will be able to leverage the existing tools to build their own expertise in this IoT space\, but they need the right business case in order to make it work. For this discussion we will look at sample architectures\, roadmaps\, lessons learned from real deployments and building the supporting business case to get to a business model that will support the investment and service going forward. \n\n\n\n About the speaker:\n\nJoshua Markham is a technical consultant for several industries spanning manufacturing\, retail/hospitality\, healthcare and Fortune energy companies and has done so for over a decade.
