Description
T-Mobile Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) and the road to 5G
Featuring Josh Carrillo, Technology Product Manager, IoT & M2M and Richard Pelupessy, Business Development Manager, IoT & M2M, T-Mobile USA
The 5G services provided by the New T-Mobile network will transform the way Americans live, work, travel and play, and will dramatically reduce costs per GB of service. 5G will unleash new ideas and uses in areas like mobile HD video, connected cities and homes, self-driving cars, smart agriculture, consumer wearables, mobile virtual reality, supercharging the Internet of Things, and even more.
About the speakers:
Josh Carrillo is a 10 year Marine Corps Veteran who transitioned his leadership skills, discipline, and can do attitude to the telecommunications industry. He spent 6 years in Chevron's San Joaquin Valley Business Unit R&D arm in Bakersfield, California. As a solutions engineer consultant, he supported various sensor technologies deployed in Chevron's Central California field assets. A network engineer by trade, he’s currently the technology product manager for the T-Mobile for Business IoT Technology Team in Bellevue, Washington. The team educates partners on available technologies, supports evaluation of the T-Mobile network, and enables solutions through device certification.
Richard Peluppessy has 28 years of experience in industrial IT and communications. He was the founder and CEO of Accelerated Technologies, Inc. in California, where he provided IT, communications and integration services for the oil and gas industry and local, state and federal agencies, and services for infrastructure deployments to AT&T and Verizon for infrastructure deployments. He contracted as a solutions engineer for Chevron's San Joaquin Valley Business Unit R&D team, where he evaluated and developed new technologies, primarily IoT/M2M solutions for global deployment. His projects included mobile cellular-based communications for sensory devices to monitor and optimize oil & gas field operations. Other projects included aerial imaging and data collection for analyzing high-resolution data for GIS, NDVI, thermal and 3D modeling. As an FAA certified pilot, he oversaw all UAV and manned aircraft operations and wrote the standard operating procedures for Chevron in Central California. His current role is with T-Mobile's IoT/M2M group as a Business Development Manager for the South Central and Southwest U.S. regions, and based in Frisco.
