“What makes a city smart?”
Speaker: Greg Brown, Manager - Solutions Architect, Public Sector, Verizon Wireless
The adoption of IoT, Smart Community, and Public Safety solutions by North Texas municipalities is on the rise as cities are preparing new ways to solve traditional problems. In this presentation, Greg will talk about unleashing the power of smart technologies to solve the Digital Divide. He will discuss the creation of sustainable solutions that will help North Texas public entities stay relevant in their increasing search to define and understand what it takes to become a smart city in today's world.
About the speaker:
Gregory Brown joined Verizon Wireless in 2007 as the Director of Data Sales for the central Texas Region. His team was responsible for coaching customers and Verizon sales teams through the transition from a voice centric to a data centric environment. In 2010 he became an Advanced Solutions Architect for the Public Sector working directly with customers to help them understand the "Possibilities" available with 4G LTE technology. He has worked on serveral regional planning committees to consult with local public agencies when large scale events such as the Super Bowl are bound for the region. His current work as Manager - Solutions Architect centers on increasing the adoption of IOT, Smart Community and Public Safety solutions across North Texas. His passion is unleashing the power of smart technologies to solve the Digital Divide and to create sustainable solutions for underserved communities while helping North Texas public entities stay relevant from a technology perspective.
Prior to his tenure with Verizon, Greg worked as a Director of Business Development with Global Crossing spearheading teams that negotiated and delivered subsea fiber optic technolgoy to LATAM and the Caribbean.
