Program May 21:
Speaker Jeremy Vickers, Co-Founder, The DEC (The Dallas Entrepreneur Center)
Jeremy will provide an overview of DEC and update on recent activities.
Speaker Bio:
Jeremy Vickers joined the Dallas Regional Chamber in September of 2011 and is the Vice President of Innovation where he leads strategy and program implementation to support building the North Texas innovation ecosystem. He leads efforts to support university research growth, technology commercialization, startup resource support, and startup capital access. Specifically, he has been deeply involved in the launch of the Dallas Entrepreneur Center as a Co-Founder, the Texas Research Alliance, and InnovateDFW, which is now a part of LaunchDFW.com.
Prior to joining the Dallas Regional Chamber, Jeremy assisted in the launch of the Texas Institute for Sustainable Technology. The Texas Institute focused on leveraging North Texas based research university capabilities to attract grants and consulting in Smart Grid and Cyber Security applications. Prior to the Texas Institute, Jeremy was the Director for Commercialization at the North Texas RCIC where he coached startups towards raising angel and venture capital. Jeremy received his Master?s at SMU?s Cox School of Business and his Bachelor?s at Baylor University. Jeremy is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Leadership Studies at Dallas Baptist University. Jeremy lives in Dallas, TX with his wife, Dr. Jackie Vickers, and twin boys.
