Teresa Anaya has over 25 years of experience in accounting and information technology with most recent 10 years in fraud, money laundering and terrorist financing investigations. Ms. Anaya draws her knowledge and experience from her work performing investigations for global financial institutions, including investigating reason for failure of financial institutions in the aftermath of the financial crisis of 2008. Her area of expertise is in the financial institution vertical, specific to global "Know Your Customer" standards, transaction monitoring and suspicious activity reporting. She is often engaged by global regulators for her knowledge and expertise related to illicit activity and mitigation strategies for the risk involved with transactions involving cryptocurrency. Ms. Anaya co-developed the Certified Cryptocurrency Training Certification program with Robert Whitaker, who is a former Special Agent with US Homeland Security. She has been the key note speaker for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, including speaking for the ACFE in Abu Dhabi and most recently invited to the CAII -- Peru's leading Anti-Corruption Conference. Ms. Anaya is a Certified Cryptocurrency Investigator, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist, ITIL 3 Certified and a Certified Bitcoin Professional.
Hamiz Mushtaq Awan is a Partner and the Founder at Plutus21 Capital, an investment firm focused on blockchain technology and digital assets. Prior to starting Plutus21 Capital, Hamiz worked in various roles at J.P. Morgan, Pearigee Partners, and Provasi Capital Partners. Hamiz graduated as a Don Jackson Fellow from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Finance from the Alternative Asset Management Center.
Bill Laggner 29 years of investment experience, co-founded Bearing Asset Management in 2002, Co-Portfolio Manager of Bearing Fund LP (top 2% of all macro funds 2005-2010).
Jon West is the principal of Vercey Blockchain Consulting and also serves clients as a Fractional CTO. He has 25+ years of software product development experience... first as a software engineer... then architect... then global technology and business executive. Most of his career has been focused on creating cloud-based SaaS products used globally by accountants and lawyers within professional firms and large corporates. He spent two years leading Blockchain R&D for Thomson Reuters. He currently consults for large corporates and software vendors of any size to help them understand and apply Blockchain and cryptocurrency. His also advises several Blockchain startups and he has a startup of his own. Jon speaks locally, nationally, and globally. He is a tri-chair for the Tech Titans Blockchain Forum. He chaired the Taxation committee for the Accounting Blockchain Association. He co-chairs Dallas Blockchain meetup, which is the most prominent blockchain meetup in Dallas. He also serves on the Blockchain Committee for Dallas Startup Week and with Business Navigators.
