Does this sound familiar? If only the data transformation office would integrate our business systems, we would be more competitive in the market. If only the security department did not get in the way of our innovation, we would crush our goals. Why aren’t we better at using our data assets? Why are the data scientists I hire leaving to join other companies and why aren’t my industry expert employees able to meet our transformation needs?
Achieving data and analytics success requires a village and not just a family. Many companies have established data transformation offices or data and analytics departments only to find that the efforts stall as the focused groups do not gain traction across the enterprise. Creating a true data driven organization requires a more expansive role for data and analytics in driving business value generation. After all, isn’t the objective to harness the value of data assets across an enterprise? Achieving this objective requires organizational and culture change and this starts with data literacy. Join us in exploring how to harness data value across the entire enterprise by focusing on building a data culture and data literacy. We will explore a number of challenges being faced and how a novel Industry and academic program is rapidly creating a data driven organization in a 140 year old company.
