The Tech Titans Advocacy Team will partner with the Richardson Chamber of Commerce's Public Policy Committee to host John Gonzales, Director of Congressional & Public Affairs, Southwest/South Central Area, U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Gonzales will join us to give an update on federal legislation, as well as discuss expectations for our annual Federal Policy Conference in Washington, D.C.

John is the Director of the Southwest and South Central Region for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in the Office of Congressional and Public Affairs. He has worked in government and politics for over 25 years.
Prior to joining the Chamber, John was the District Director for Congressman Michael Burgess, MD where he was responsible for managing the daily operations of the district office.
Before working for Congressman Burgess, John served several Texas elected officials during is career beginning with Senator Phil Gramm in 1989. In 1991, he joined the Bush-Quayle ‘92 Re-election Campaign in Washington, DC working in the Treasury and Finance.
In 1993, he joined the Kay Bailey Hutchison for Senate Campaign in Austin, Texas to work on the special election. The seat was vacated by Senator Lloyd Bentson who resigned to become President Clinton’s Secretary of the Treasury. After a landside victory, he moved back to Dallas to work for Senator Hutchison in the district office for over 5 years holding many positions.
After a short stint in the private sector, he re-joined Senator Phil Gramm as Deputy State Director of Constituent Services in the state district office until 2002. John joined the US Chamber in March of 2005.
John is a native of Dallas, Texas where he lives with his wife and family. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics from the University of Texas at Dallas.
