Tech Industry Luncheon - 2017 - May 5
Description
"Digital Ambition: Three not-so-rhetorical questions for the Digital Strategist"
Featuring Rick Nordtvedt, Ph.D, MBA, Senior Executive Partner, Gartner
There are four kinds of businesses: digital businesses, those becoming digital businesses, those struggling to understand how to become digital businesses, and those who will not figure it out in time. Digital technologies, opportunities, and business models are developing at light speed; 64% of IT and marketing executives recently surveyed by Gartner say they expect to transform into a digital business by the end of 2017. What does digital mean and what types of digital approaches are prominent today? Where are you on your digital journey? What does the digital future look like? Leave this presentation with one digital question that you might find just a little frightening.
Rick Nordtvedt is a Senior Executive Partner with Gartner, Inc. In this role, he is a trusted advisor to C-level executives providing counsel on a variety of strategic issues including digital business, mergers and acquisitions, emerging technology, corporate and business strategy, and technology strategy. Prior to joining Gartner, Dr. Nordtvedt spent much of his technology career in corporate IT working for Fortune 500 firms. Dr. Nordtvedt has executive leadership experience in a diverse array of industries, including transportation, medical device manufacturing, financial services and defense industry consulting. Dr. Nordtvedt speaks at events frequently, primarily about digital business and strategy, and he has lectured in a number of business graduate schools including Stanford and Notre Dame. He holds a Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the University of Memphis.
