The world is being reinvented by computer automation, analytics and cloud technology with an emphasis on user-based agile development. Cognitive systems understand the world and provide compelling user experiences by leveraging data insights. Watson, created by IBM, is a cloud-based, open platform of expanding cognitive capabilities. Romelia will discuss the history of IBM's Watson Cognitive technology and describe publicly available cognitive services which are driving discovery-based innovation. About the speaker:
Romelia Flores is one of IBM's top 500 technical executives, earning the titles of IBM Distinguished Engineer and IBM Master Inventor. She has collaborated with some of IBM's largest clients around technology innovation, and holds 25 patents with an additional 25 patents pending. Romelia is an alumnus of the University of Texas, Austin and a Baylor Honorary alumnus. In 2016 Romelia has been honored with the Great Minds in STEM 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award and named as one of Dallas Business Journal's Women in Technology.

Payment is necessary at the time of reservations. Due to catering requirements we must charge for reservations not canceled three days prior to the event. Unclaimed reservations during the event will be relinquished at noon. Walk-in customers will be seated based on space availability.
